I’m starting over…

The more I look into “how to make a blog profitable”, the less I see myself in the posts–the more I see an SEO hell with no soul, and so I’m rebooting.

I left Meta and Twitter

For those wondering what happened to my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, I deleted them.

No, I didn’t deactivate them, I deleted them. For good.

Why, you might ask? Why take away all that visibility from your brand?

I’ll tell you why: I don’t like my data being made into a product, or to utilize platforms that actively commit crimes against privacy without any ghost of remorse. I don’t like having to have a Facebook page in order to advertise on Instagram, or not having a choice in having a chronological timeline, and no control over the algorithm that will never be in my favor. Twitter is unstable at best under Musk, and we’re in an election year. The latter point is reason enough for me to just opt out of social media altogether.

As for the social aspects, most of my friends and family are in my mobile contacts. I call my mom every Sunday at noon on the dot–I send her photos, links, etc. over text, and so having a Facebook profile just seems redundant. My closest friends contact me similarly, and I don’t have a need to connect with anyone else, unless I’m connecting professionally.

Where I’m at now (online)

I’ve made the move to Web 3.0 with the majority of my outlets, which may be a controversial move for some. A lot of these platforms are crawling with problematic actors, many of which I fundamentally disagree with and will never directly associate with. I’ve actually blocked and muted the majority of the people who use them (at least to my visibility), which takes time…but I think it’s worth it. That said, being in a less regulated, decentralized environment also gives me room to breathe.

If you have the stomach for an uncensored internet within legality, then feel free to follow me on the following Web 3.0 outlets:

Minds (FB alternative)
pixelfed.social (Insta alternative)
mastodon.social (Twitter alternative)
Odysee (YouTube alternative)

I also want to put my energy into a blog of my own. Under my own domain, which I can move from host to host as needed. I will never have to worry about random “Facebook jail” via some bot’s whims, and people will always be able to find me.

That’s the goal!

If you would like to keep up to date on what’s happening in life, this is the best place to do it! I hope to get subscriptions up at some point to inform people of updates, but in the meantime, here is my RSS feed (https://liminalovertea.com/feed/).

Thank you all for being around for the ride! We’ll see where this goes!
